Ashtanga yoga is form of yoga that helps in treating various health related problems. The best way of doing it is meditation and breathing exercises.
Ashtanga yoga is a combination of 8 forms of yoga. 8 forms are the 8 steps and ways of doing yoga. By performing these in a proper way any person can attain mental peace very easily. All of the steps of yoga are taught by skilled professionals. These professionals are people who have been trained by elders in their family. There are others who have gained knowledge of yoga since many years and have now become teachers in the ashrams and meditation centers. The streams of Ashtanga yoga are prescribed by meditation centers where people flock from far off places to get rid of their problems.
Efficient input with good amount of physical and mental practice can help in treating your problems from their root cause. The different steps of yoga that are to be performed properly are:
- Self control which is know as Yama in Sanskrit
- Another name for this is Niyama which is considered as conduct.
- Postures and poses of yoga which are referred to the basic asanas of yoga
- Another important yoga therapy which is being practiced by many people is pranayam . Pranayam is the act of controlling your breath. Breathing exercises are done which have direct relation to the mind and other organs of the body. It has been found that continuous performance of pranayam can free the mind from tensions and also can help the body in staying internally fit. Common results of pranayam are loss of weight, treatment of blood pressure, concentration improvement etc.
- Sense withdrawal which is termed as Pratyahara in Sanskrit
- Concentration or Dharana: This is a result of pranayam and is a complete step of Ashtanga yoga in itself. In earlier days Dharana was regarded as a direct path to God. It was believed that a person can attain moksha by concentrating on his/her god. Today, you might not find it true to say that you can get moksha by Dharana but it’s a truth that one can heal his/her injuries and problems by doing this yoga properly and continuously.
- Dhyana: It is a complete art of meditation. It is another way of reducing mental and physical problems. Unlike Dharan dhyana is also an essential stream of yoga. This was also regarded as an effective way of gaining moksha earlier. Nowadays people are getting attracted towards yoga and meditation because of the tensions prevailing in the work place and home. Yoga offers several meditation and relaxation techniques.
- Samadhi: It is called to be a state where the mind gets completely distracted from the physical world and is staying in complete peace and freedom. In this particular situation there are no thoughts and emotions in the mind and the body feels relaxed.
If you want to be free from tensions and anxieties then it is often advised that one should attend mediation camps. The teachers there help us in healing all the injuries by the means of yoga and other meditations and exercises.
